My buddy in Canada with ties in Buffalo just sent me this.
Take it for what its worth.

97 Rock has just learned from concert promoter Live Nation that Van
Halen has put all additional concert on-sale dates on hold, including the
Buffalo date that was going to be announced and go on sale in two weeks. As
you know, 97 Rock listeners supported our petition drive and Live Nation was
able to confirm a Buffalo date, which was to have been May 17th. Stories of
problems within the band appear to be the source of today's news. This of
course is not the first time Van Halen has had internal problems during their
career. Van Halen management has told Live Nation they will play the remaining
dates that have been booked through April 11, but the future on-sale dates are
on hold. 97 Rock will keep you updated on this story and any news from the Van
Halen camp.

Well, this isn't good news, you're right Ron....I hope it's just a rumor---

I just went to check out their website, and noticed again that some dates were completely switched around...I thought that was strange---I mean sure, concert dates get rescheduled all the time, but this appears to have been happening more often than usual on this tour...that's just my perception though.

Weren't you going to see them in Hershey on 3/19? Now that's been changed to April 11th?

Typical =VH=, too bad they couldn't of released an album...I'll hope this is a rumor, but knowing the band's history, I wouldn't doubt it...

This just in from Billboard.com, 3 hours ago:

Sources: Van Halen Tour Not Being Canceled
Van Halen
March 03, 2008, 2:00 PM ET
Ray Waddell, Nashville
Despite reports to the contrary, sources with Van Halen tell Billboard the band's tour is not being canceled, though tonight's (March 3) scheduled show at the American Airlines Center in Dallas has been postponed and rescheduled for April 24.

Three other dates have been postponed while Eddie Van Halen undergoes medical tests: Cincinnati (March 5) is rescheduled for April 22; Raleigh, N.C. (March 7) is rescheduled for April 13; and Baltimore (March 9) is rescheduled for April 15. The source says the outing picks up on March 11 in Charlottesville, Va. Tickets for the scrapped dates will be honored at the new shows.

Van Halen, who has battled cancer and substance abuse, "is undergoing a battery of comprehensive medical tests to determine a defined diagnosis and recommended medical procedures," reads a statement from the group's management. No further details were given.

Van Halen returned to the road last fall with original lead singer David Lee Roth for the first time in 20-plus years. The tour, which features Eddie Van Halen's teenage son Wolfgang on bass, has routinely sold out North American arenas.

The current schedule has shows booked through April 25 in Sacramento, Calif. Van Halen is also slated to perform six days earlier at Tiger Woods' Tiger Jam in Las Vegas.
***********************************
also from the Van Halen website:

VAN HALEN DALLAS, CINCINNATI, RALEIGH, & BALTIMORE CONCERTS POSTPONED
LOS ANGELES, CA -- March 3, 2008

The Van Halen concerts in Dallas, Cincinnati, Raleigh, and Baltimore have been postponed. According to Eddie Van Halen's physician, he is undergoing a battery of comprehensive medical tests to determine a defined diagnosis and recommended medical procedures.

The March 3rd Dallas concert at American Airlines Center has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2008; Cincinnati's March 5th concert at U.S. Bank Arena has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 22nd; Raleigh's March 7th concert at RBC Center has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 13th; and Baltimore's March 9th concert at 1st Mariner Arena has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 15th.

Fans should retain their tickets as they will be honored at the rescheduled concerts or ticket refunds will be issued at the original point of purchase.
*************************************

Let's just hope for the best for Edward (let it be nothing serious, please....) This just sucks--for the band, for the fans...for Edward....

I thought that was interesting, Tiger Woods a VH fan! I was watching a Tiger Woods interview and they asked him his favorite song and he said Panama.

I hope this isn't just an excuse...well at least they are trying to keep it together for the remaining dates of the tour... what happens after is anyone's guess.

This morning I was shittin. Thought for sure everything was done. Woke up at 5:00 (I sleep during the day) and saw all the date crazyness and read the scoop on their website.
Im still not convinced the rest of the tour wont get cancelled.
Very unstable.
That Fort Lauderdale clip was spooky.

Im sorry dollface. Mental leapfrog.
Im a dummy when it comes to postin Utube clips.
So your gonna have to look it up. Its the Fort Lauderdale clip of "Jump" Just watch Ed.
Ed slams his guitar into the stage via the headstock, plays a real shitty solo(cause the guitars outta whack), then at the end, going off stage, knocks a stack of amps down almost hittin Roth.
Weird stuff.

He was slamming his guitar into the stage just the same way, headstock first, the last time I saw them in East Rutherford...he's been having trouble with them the whole tour--are those the ones that are being auctioned off on ebay? He should just say to heck with them and play his own instruments...he'd be happier, the shows would go better for him at the least. It's got to stink like yesterday's garbage to be up there on stage, knowing the crowd expects amazement and wanting to blow their minds but having your equipment hamstring you....I feel so badly for him having it happen over and over...and seemingly randomly too--it doesn't happen every show....

Ed isn't looking very professional by doing stuff like that...just by watching the East Rutherford video it makes the whole band look bad..I hope they can pull it together for the remainer of the tour..

Honestly, zoso, when Edward flipped out in East Rutherford, it was totally justified, as I've said time and time again...he was having problems with the sound guys all night long and when he finally lost his beans and started kicking the monitor around, it was the end result of having begged them all night long to just do their jobs. I can't imagine what inspired them to be so freakin' useless when their boss was up there on stage in front of 20,000 people having problems and asking them for their help, clearly and directly....I see nothing unprofessional about his behavior that evening---it was a man being pushed to his absolute limit, trying to provide a quality show and being prevented from doing so by his equipment and the people he was paying to maintain it. They were the unprofessional ones, and I hope they all got fired.

Yeah, that may be true, but he still needs to maintain his composure...just because things weren't going right doesn't mean he had to knock over an amp and possibly risk the safety of other band members....If he really wanted to put on a great show maybe he should of looked into getting a better sound crew, or possibly better equipment, rather than just trying to market everything he touches...

I'm just saying...after watching the East Rutherford Jump video, the band looked real bad..maybe it was just the poor quality of the cell phone recording, because when I saw them they sounded great, but in that video they sounded off for some reason...

Are you confusing two videos maybe? Cuz "Jump" was fine when they played it in East Rutherford---Ron was talking about "Jump" in Ft Lauderdale, a more recent show than the one I was at.

I talked to a buddy of mine last night who's pretty tight on whats goin on. He tells me Ed had fired a whole slew of people on this tour. From techs to sound people. Im sure the frustration has to have gotten to em. Let em clean up for two weeks and see what happens.

I'm glad to hear that Ron. There's nothing more frustrating than people not doing their jobs and having it affect how you do yours....Let's hope whatever this medical problem is doesn't turn out to be major, and a little time off brings things back to where they should be.

Yeah, I'm sorry...my bad...Ft Lauderdale..Sounds like Ed has everything under control now. I think that was just an off night..other videos I watched they seemed fine, as well as when I saw them back in October.

Man, what exactly is wrong with Eddie? Has that been announced? Cause what I've seen has just been saying that he is undergoing tests, but it hasn't said what kind of tests, or what the tests are for..

Hope he's OK..

He's got some ear problems. When he got pissed at the sound guys with the monitor issue, he threw it, it made a pop in his ear. Ever since he's had verdigo issues. Can drive a guy insane.
He's not in rehab.
He just has to chill till that clears up.

I can't imagine the hearing issues he must go through. All those concerts..most of the time it looked to me like he didn't have any ear protection..horrible..I wish him the best, hopefully his ears can heal so he can put on some more awesome shows.
