Amazing 'Cover Story' for us Halenheads, I'm sure you agree. Ed & Wolf are billed as a 'Father & Son Team'. The magazine also boasts a feature on the 30th Anniversary of the debut LP.

Looks like a smashing read to me, hey me hearties!

I bet there's some whining going on over @ the other boards...

"WTH is Dave's interview!?" or "I wonder if they ask Wolf about Mikes bass-parts?" or "Ed has a gagging order on Dave!" etc, same-old, etc, same-old... betcha.

And you'd be a rich rich man, because that's precisely what is happening regarding this....typical....

Isn't this a GREAT picture? I can't figure out when this issue is coming out---do you know?

Indeedie-donuts, dear. If Dave made the cover of Rolling Stone I would be ecstatic... I would buy it, cherish it and re-read it over and over again. *ok - "cherish" sounds a tad fan-boyish, I admit... but cherish I would!*

As for the Guitar World issue date... ???? + ???? = ???????

That would be hilarious! Why? Because precisely the same folk who are mewling about Dave not doing an interview are the ones who all recently said they think Rolling Stone sucks.....I would laugh my heiny off, I would!

I too would love an interview with the Dave-meister. Although you know my heart belongs to Edward when it comes to these guyzos, I still enjoy watching Dave prance and preen. And he gives such good interview...... 8)

Edward's interviews are insightful as to his music, the way he works etc, the totally inventive nature of the man generally comes through - very seldom is anything personal discussed. With Dave its all about him - he hardly ever references the music itself. I'd dare to suggest that this goes some-way to explaining why the Eddie & Dave combo works so well.

Rav, have you ever heard the 'Taped' Eddie Interview from '81? I have a thread with about 8 Youtube clips of 20 minutes of pure Eddie (if it hasn't been deleted) over @ my old stompin' ground (I shall not speak its name).

>>>Actually I might refresh that thread here @ LUTS<<<

I have never heard that interview, Iro, no. That would be smashing if you would refresh that thread here....I would be pleased as punch not to have to go routing around for it over there; I'm going to have limited access time as it is. But take your time, darlin', don't go to any trouble on my account. After today, I will be offline for several days at least....

Sorry, but to me Wolf looks like Sandra Bullock if she weighed 180 and wore her hair short.

But you know what, I'll be buggered if I can find any info on the date for this magazine. Its got to be next month, surely? Why would they release the cover-shot otherwise?

Good question! And the answer is, probably. Have you ever seen "Erin Brockavich"? Watch that and tell me that you wouldn't bang her!

AJ, that was Julia Roberts!!!

I hate that ropey bint.

Sandy Bollocks (haha, playground humour!) was in Speed and Miss Congeniality ... she has a constipated quality to her acting.

I'm taking an educated guess that this is the April issue---right clicking on the image, then choosing "Save Image As" yields a file name of 'GW0408A.'

And, if you look at the little box in the lower right corner with the bar code, just below the red square that says "Future" there is also an "04." In a rest stop on the way down here to NC yesterday, I saw a copy of February's issue, with Kirk Hammett on the front, and in that same place, it said "02."
So where are you now?

"A Pie and a Pint" on Stripper night huh? I think that it's just best if we leave that one stand by itself, shall we? With all the fertile minds at this place, y'all can fill in your own blanks... heh...heh... Well, I hope you had a lovely time...

Funny thing, I have no recollection of typing that "so where are you now?" It's definitely there in my post, but I have no idea where it came from--it was pretty late when I posted that last night, and I was fairly loopy tired, so I suppose anything's possible...

ED AND WOLFGANG VAN HALEN TALK SHOP WITH GUITAR WORLD
"I couldn't wait for the day I'd be able to make music with my son." - EDWARD VAN HALEN

(Los Angeles, CA) January 27, 2008 - As VAN HALEN prepared to kick off the second leg of their incredibly successful tour, EDDIE and WOLFGANG VAN HALEN recently sat down to talk to Guitar World in the magazine's first ever father and son cover story.

Among the topics discussed are the ins and outs of playing VAN HALEN music live, how WOLFGANG came into the band, what it's like for a 16-year old to play on some of the biggest stages in the world and much more!

Due to hit newsstands on February 12, the 12-page spread is jam-packed with color photos and features a detailed discussion with father and son on what it's like to be band mates, their experience of being on tour together in addition to detailing the instruments and touring equipment they use. Also included, in honor of its 30-year anniversary, is a retrospective overview of the making of the band's groundbreaking 1978 debut, "VAN HALEN."

I thought the Feb. issue had Kirk Hammet or Zakk Wylde on it?

The most recent one, the one I saw on the way down to North Carolina, had Kirk Hammet on the front. So maybe it's technically the Feb issue--they seem to release the issue, like alot of publications, a few weeks before the month it's actually for....so the Ed/Wolfgang one is being released Feb 21, maybe it's the March issue?

WTF? Down here in Bama, we have Dimebag on the cover. However, it still mentions the interview with Ed.

Dimebag was on last month's issue--I got that before we left PA. I guess we'll just have to wait another couple weeks to see what comes out on the 21st....hmm.....

Just got the last copy of this and the last copy of the Modern Drummer with Alex in it last night at my local Borders. Haven't had the chance to really delve into them (had some important writing to get done last evening...), but the pics are outstanding!!! I absolutely LOVE the opening shot of Wolfie and Edward---priceless!

Nice, rav.

I haven't seen either here yet... but I'm 'a still 'a look 'n.

Say, rav... are they worthy of a pocket reach or not? I could, in theory, just grab both of the shelf and read them "inside" the Book-store's Coffee Shop.

Ya know - for £4 bloody quid, I want an un-released track, a signed pick, an insight on what it means to have Dave return and Ed's take on why Mike "didn't show up".

.... but it is only Guitar World, after-all. There hasn't been a decent Ed interview in that rag for donkeys years.

I read it in the Mag shop. Didn't buy it.

4 quid...how's that translate to american currency? I paid $6 or thereabouts for my copy, I think---and yeah, there wasn't a whole lot of groundbreaking news forthcoming, but it was worth it to me for the pics alone...what can I say, I'm a bit of a fangirl....

That would be prexactly 3 of the Queen's pounds... and a quid cheaper than here.

Did ya ever have an Eddie poster adorning the wall of thy chamber, rav?
