In case you are wondering, the hackers replaced all the text to iraqi or punjabi or some fuckin' thing so you couldn't read any of it and now the site is down altogether.

Yeah - I was online when it happened.

Here's how it went down:

1) New Member joins. This guy has an Arabic username meaning 'General'. I'm thinking "Thats bloody odd".

2) Then Admin logs in and then I'm thinking "Strange, never seen Admin on here before".

3) Then all of a whoopsie and the whole place looks like a page from the Koran!

..... That's 3 major incidents over there, in 12 months.

1 Crash & 2 Hacks.

I saw that Admin. logged on and thought that was bazaar too! By the time I logged on all hell already broke loose because I saw only the altered text like in those screen shots.

I've never seen Admin before.

He must have joined, logged in and then accessed the Admin control panel... somehow?

What amazed me was how he just breezed in and out. I saw the whole process... he went from 'join' to 'jihad' in under 3 minutes!

I wonder if it is related to the last hacker? Was he not from the Middle East as well? The name escapes me... CyberT was it?

This guy is called General. I know this cos I translated his Arabic squiggle. So, yes, both were Middle Eastern.

I haven't spent enough time there to follow what has been going on as of lately, but when I was posting there I noticed a constant wave of new members registering. Of all the ones that I tried to keep track of I never saw 1 single post. There must be more bogus members than real ones.

Judging by the database error page (which was the case when the board crashed) I'd bet on lost data again.
oh well, at least I won't have to go to any more trouble to delete the rest of my posts there!

I wouldn't take it as a hack Freak said that he would make some changes in early 08'. Notice the E-mail stuff is on the left and the sign in is on the right. Backwards. Also, the banner's fonts/lanugage didn't change, nor did the sign in language, as far as the actual header goes. Plus since the Admin signed on it makes me think that it was Freak making the changes in-stead of some freaking hacker.

Nah, AJ - it was definitely hacked. All the tell-tale signs are there.

I was reading all about this, on a "How to..." hacking site. It's so bloody easy. The Hacker targets the Admin route and as soon as he's cracked that part he's in. That place has/had very weak security... end of story.

If, or when, it gets back online, and if data has been lost... well... ?? ... is it really worth posting there?

Just think of all those posts that are prolly lost... what a waste of brain-power and elbow-grease.

Jihadist versus Classic Van Halen.com? Why, pray tell? Doth the General believe that the site is the band's official site? Doth he attack it because of the relative ease? What ever the case may be, he has bested Mr. VH Freak once again. It's a shame really, as there were many new members keeping the waters oxygenated. Mayhaps Master AJ's site can handle the runoff?

Holy crap! I just tried to sign on over there to see if anything interesting would pop up in the few minutes I have here and I couldn't get on--kept getting the Database Error message. So I signed on here to find this!

Man, that must have been crazy to watch happen Iro---you say he did it in under 3 minutes? damn....Not that I'm really all that upset about it crashing---the place had changed even in the last few weeks since I left home and the once or twice I got to sign in, it really wasn't too pleasant a place to be.....I'm glad to see you and MOFO posting over here again---this is a nice place to hang out, with good folk---

Of course it's a hack A.J., I'm sure Freak is gonna change everything to Arabic. Geezuz.

What I am saying is, it is so damn easy to change the language of a message board. Freak could have been trying to change the grapics and hit the wrong button. It's that easy.

I just clicked on my bookmark only to find a Trojan lurking there. It was automatically cleaned off my system, thankfully. I know badmoon said he experienced something similar.

Cheeky bastard. I bet that site has really been laid-low this time.
