ravenna's random rambles....

Postby ravennaloveseddie on Mon Mar 10, 2008 2:16 pm

Here's a place to post random vids that catch your fancy...music, comedy, stupid commercials...whatever makes you smile.

For starters, this song started playing in my head the moment I awoke yesterday...don't know why...it's an oldie and I loved it when it came out and still do...Here's Pilot from 1974, with "Magic."

And here's another crazy one:
Brian May and Friends...Starfleet (Mr. Edward Van Halen would be one of those friends) I was given the vinyl copy of this album from my college radio station back in '83...still have it, it's one of my treasures....This is cheesy '80s stop motion animation at it's best, I think:

After more than a few frustrating moments trying to locate this at youtube (which I swore I did once before), I am reduced to posting just the url for this for your enjoyment....I'm pretty sure I posted this at cvh.com awhile ago, so if it's redundant to anyone, my apologies....it just makes me laugh every time I see it....

...you had no idea of the extent of my Inner Nerd, here is one from the first band I ever loved, when I was twelve...I present to you:
Les McKeown on lead vocals, Eric Faulkner on lead guitar, Derek Longmuir on drums, and (my personal fave cos I always dig the dorky ones...yep, Peter Tork was my favorite Monkee) , Stuart John "Woody" Wood on bass guitar...
The Bay City Rollers with "You Made Me Believe in Magic."

and now you know....

Brian looks so earnest in that video... "Only YOU can save our souls".

Rav, I have it on vinyl as well. I used to watch this show with an almost religious fervour every Saturday afternoon tea-time... then, afterwards, I would be straight outside to practice me' BMX tricks!

You have this? Once again, great minds think alike! Stellar! (all puns intended...) I don't think I ever got to see show itself, although this clip does seem oddly familiar...Was the more of the same cheesy animation?

HAHA! I can just see a little Iro, building himself a homemade ramp out back of his house, trying to catch some "sweet air" on his BMX...or were you more of the stationary twirly wheels, spinning around in a wheelie kinda stuntkid?

Rav, it was pure Space Cheese! ...good memories though.

I broke both a leg and an arm... says it all about my BMX virtuosity, really.

Separately. Living and learning isn't in the BMX'ers Bible... see, you gotta be rad 24/7. Then came Rick Astley and everything changed.

Great White: Save Your Love...(i'm such an 80's girl....)

Ignore the lead singer's overwrought gesturing, it's the song itself that counts....

"get me a jury and show me how you can say IN july and I'll go down on you...that's just idiotic!" Orson Welles said WHAT??

you are a gem, Iro, and you have a wonderfilled mind that constantly amuses us...thanks.

A good friend of mine has that vinyl stuff, too.
Someday I'm gonna steal it from him - I'm sure of that! :-D
